On June 21, 2020, Four Mile Run Christian Church will gather in person for the first time since March 9, 2020! We are beyond thrilled to welcome our church back to re-gather together. We have taken steps and precautions to make certain that by meeting again in person, we are doing so with your family’s health and safety in mind.

  • We will offer one service beginning June 21, 2020 which will be held in the LOWER BUILDING starting at 10:30AM. Families will worship together and there will be no Nursery or Children’s programming for now. As restrictions loosen, we will look at making those available again. We will make activity packets available for children during the service
  • All doors will be open for a touch-free process
  • There will be no printed handouts – instead we will offer a digital, bulletin that you can access through our website
  • Initially, we will not offer communion in person. Offering can continue to be given online, or in our new Generosity Buckets which will be spaced out around the auditorium.
  • While our Men’s, Women’s, and Family Restrooms will be available, There will be no access to the Upper Building, Classrooms, Café, or Kitchens
  • All physical/social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC, federal, state and local governments will be in effect, including the spacing of our chairs in the auditorium. We ask that you leave at least 3 chairs between your group of family members and the next family group or individual(s)
  • The Lower Building will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival, but when the service concludes, we ask that you exit the building so that we can begin the cleaning and disinfecting procedure. If you choose to, you may visit with people outdoors or away from the building.

We recommend you continue to stay at home if you are more vulnerable in the following ways:

  • People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
  • People who have serious heart conditions
  • People who are immune compromised
  • People with diabetes
  • People with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis
  • People with liver disease

Stay home when you are sick and avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Sick is defined as: Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Am I required to wear a mask?

  • We will not require you to wear a mask, but we want to be kind and love our neighbors, which means we will have separate rows for people that want to wear a mask and those who do not.

What if I want to make a decision, like getting baptized?

  • That is fantastic! We would love to help you with that. Speak to one of our staff or volunteers, before or after the service and we would enjoy talking with you about your next steps!

What about Sunday School classes? When will those be offered?

  • As the restrictions loosen, we will move towards offering certain programs again, including children’s programming, classes, and groups. The Adult Bible Fellowship Class will meet in a physically distanced format outside prior to the service.

If you still have questions, call the church or email us at

Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 a.m. – Our leadership is continuing to assess decisions. We are meeting every other week to analyze the current situation and decide when it will be best for us to resume our Sunday morning in person gatherings. Continue to pray with us as we seek God’s wisdom for when and how to best open in order to keep all of us as safe as possible. We will provide updates as they are available on this webpage and through our various Social Media channels:

Tuesday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. – At Four Mile Run Christian Church we want to not only love Jesus with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, but we want to love our neighbor as ourselves. At this time, loving our neighbor means distancing ourselves from each other. To comply with the requests made by our Federal, State and Local governments, until further notice, all gathering for services and events at Four Mile Run Christian Church have been postponed
As per the past two Sundays, we will continue to offer the message and worship online Sunday morning through our Website, Facebook, and YouTube platforms. As a bonus, you are able to live chat alongside us as we watch the Facebook and YouTube services. You can find those links below:
Website – Service Link
Facebook – Church Page
YouTube – Church Page
You can jump into our Facebook group for community at: facebook/groups/fmrcc
As a side note, our staff are working remotely for the most part, but we have set up call-forwarding for needs and we are periodically checking the building, voicemail and mailboxes multiple times per day.
We will provide updates on future services/events and changes as needed.

Friday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m.As you are well aware the COVID-19 virus is still active and restrictions on large group gatherings continue to be in effect. We pray that each of you are well. Thank you for your prayers as we continue to live into this new normal. We want you to be safe until a time comes where we can connect and worship together as a church family.

This Sunday, March 22nd, our worship service, and all Sunday morning groups will continue to be canceled. Additionally, all midweek groups, events and our programs will be canceled for this week. This includes Adult Bible Studies, Team meetings & rehearsals, and Outbreak.

A few exceptions to our cancelations:

  • Online Sermon – A video will be posted each Sunday morning in place of our normal worship. There will be a YouTube premier on Sunday at 9:00am, where you can watch and chat live with other church members. Click here to watch
  • Online Giving – You are welcome to give your tithe online through our website. It is safe and convenient. Click here to give
  • Staff – Our church building remains open for communication and assistance. Please call (don’t visit) if there is anything you need.

During this time of challenges, fears and frustrations, we ask you to join us in praying for our community, nation and our world. Do what you can to love your neighbor as yourself. Finally, please know that we care for you all deeply and if there is anything you need help with, or pray for, please feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to serve you however we can.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6
We love you all.

Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. – All gathering for services have been canceled for this Sunday, March 22, 2020. We will provide an update on future services and events tomorrow, Friday, March 20, 2020.

Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. – First, we want to thank you for your patience and flexibility. Your prayers and encouragement have been awesome! Thank you!
As our current situation develops, we are praying, discussing, and listening while we make decisions on how best to be the church. This situation is fluid with new information coming out every day. We know more today than we did yesterday regarding how COVID-19 spreads, and that necessitated a change of direction for this weekend’s worship gathering.
Please watch the following video for information about our services for this coming weekend.
Please check back Thursday, March 19, 2020 for updates

With all of the wrong information about the Coronavirus spread, The Four Mile Run Team is using trusted sources of information to base our leadership decisions.
Here are the links to those if you would like to read them as well:
We serve a BIG God who is greater than any virus. We have a GREAT staff and leadership who are pouring so much time, love and energy into keeping you informed and involved. Four Mile Run Christian Church is an AMAZING church! So whether we meet all together in the same building or from our separate homes, we will worship and pray and study together as one church.
March 15 – All services canceled. (This includes Sunday School programming) (We will have an update available on Thursday regarding future programs and services.)
March 18 – Outbreak, Worship Rehearsal – canceled
March 21 – Throwback Night and Chili Cookoff postponed. (to be rescheduled at a later date)

In response to the National & Local Emergencies that have been declared in our nation and state, we have made the difficult decision to suspend Four Mile Run Christian Church’s services and activities for this week. This does two things. First, it limits you and your family members from exposure to the Covid-19 virus and secondly, it allows us to do our part in our community by helping slow the spread of the virus to allow our healthcare facilities to not be overwhelmed. We will continue to monitor this fluid situation closely and make determinations and decisions regarding future weeks and activities with the most up to date information possible. Check back often for updates from our leadership team.

Even though our services and activities are suspended for this week. We will still offer resources for you and your family to continue worship. The church is still the church, even though we’re not gathering in a building this Sunday.

Here is a link to the Four Mile Run Christian Church Spotify playlist for our worship team. This list is updated weekly with the current worship set for the upcoming week. Use this to sing along with or play in the background so you can focus on the words of each song.

Sunday morning, the weekly message from Mike Smith will be posted here so you and your family can log on to our website and watch it together.

You can do communion right from your own home using the supplies you have in your kitchen/pantry. Any crackers & juice are fine to use. The supplies you use are not what’s important, it’s the act of remembering Jesus’ sacrifice and what that means for you and your family members that needs to be the focus.

The great news is that we’ve had online giving for a while and now, you get a chance to use it! If you’re concerned about safety, we use an encrypted system that protects your personal and private information. If you prefer an alternative method of giving, you can mail your offering to the church, or stop by during the week and drop it off in the main church office. We want to continue to bless and minister to our community and your giving allows us to continue doing that.
Worship & Prayer goes beyond Sunday and we have incredible resources and tools at our disposal 24/7. We have an amazing partnership through RightNowMedia. This is a website you can visit to browse Bible Studies and messages in a Netflix style form. If you would like access to this resource, contact the church office for a login.

If you could use assistance or you can HELP the church serve people, fill out this form.

Throughout this time, people still have needs that must be met. Childcare will be needed for families who still must work but have children who are out of school. People will not be able to leave their homes and will still need supplies such as medications,  groceries, and cleaning supplies.

  • Need childcare / can provide childcare during the next three weeks
  • Need medications / groceries / supplies and cannot leave your house.
  • Can get medications / groceries / supplies for those who cannot leave the house
  • Need help accessing online information
  • Can help tutor students / children in their schoolwork during the next three weeks

There will still be opportunities to gather, but for now, please call people before you visit them in their homes. It’s best to practice Physical Distancing for now so that we don’t spread the virus and overload our healthcare providers.
