GO BEYOND THEME
Our Theme for 2019 at Four Mile Run Christian Church is “Go Beyond”.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:4-5‬ says, “”Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

Jesus followed this up in ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:28-31“And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” “Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Part of our campaign to Go Beyond is rooted in loving God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and the other part happens when we love our neighbors, no matter who they are or where they’re from.

A lot of us want to go beyond, but we’re scared. Sometimes we don’t jump in to action because of fear, but once you do, you find freedom.

You have to conquer your fears to realize all that you can do in Christ.

‭‭Going Beyond with Your Heart
When you go beyond with your heart, it’s going to be messy because it involves people and people are messy. We need to make sure we correct and learn from our past mistakes and make adjustments as you go. If we show people a little movement, go beyond a little bit, then people will take notice.

Going Beyond with Your Soul
Going beyond with your soul means you have to improve. The Bible calls us to be like Christ. You have to mature to really grow. Every time you initiate something new in your life, it takes effort. It requires more energy, but true success is found in following and being obedient to Christ. When we have the Holy Spirit in our life, it craves to make us more like Christ.

Going Beyond with Your Mind
God doesn’t want us to blindly follow Him, He wants us to plan and know He’s going to see us through. Going beyond stretches us. It often defies logic or boundaries. You’re not going to be able to go beyond if you’re easily offended or get uncomfortable. If you want to win any kind of victory, you have to fight for it. That battle starts in your mind and choosing to be stretched by God.

Going Beyond with Your Strength
You have to be strong to Go Beyond because Going beyond invites change. John Maxwell said, “Change is inevitable, growth is optional.” Growth requires resilience, which means working your spiritual muscles out to make them stronger.

CHALLENGES
Every single week at Four Mile Run, we’ll be posting challenges to help you Go Beyond. Try and complete as many of them as you can and you’ll notice a vast difference in your spiritual walk with Christ!
